Meet Ryan

Ryan Brueggeman has been in the cycling industry since 1988 when he began assembling scooters in the family bicycle shop in St. Charles, Missouri and is a third-generation bicycle shop owner.  

After leaving the industry in 1995, Ryan joined the United States Navy until 1999 when he returned to Missouri and opened a bicycle shop.  After 9/11 Ryan was recalled to active duty and served tours in Iraq, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.  Ryan decided to continue his Naval career and worked in bicycle shops across the country as a mechanic, salesman, manager and fitter as his duties would allow.  In 2009 Ryan found himself in Phoenix, AZ where he became the sales manager at a bicycle shop for 6 years.  In 2013 Ryan took a job as a service manager at a wind tunnel performance center for cyclists performing maintenance and fit alterations on road and triathlon bicycles.  In 2014 Ryan retired from the United States Navy and took a break from the cycling industry.  In 2018, Ryan was presented an opportunity at North Valley Bicycles and was there until March of 2025 when he became owner of Bicycles of Phoenix.  Ryans cycling experience includes road and mountain bike racing, Duathlon and Triathlon as well as leisure riding.
